Constant cycle time control minimizes variztion of product weight. Stable molding of high quality products is enabled by unique mechanisms such as, parting line misalignment prevention mechanism which reduces the defectiv product rate, automatic adjustment of the mouth cutting positions when molding multiple parisons, and calibrating force equalizing mechanism which eliminates the time for adjustment calibrators’ height and reduces the time spent for changingh molds. Control and Software Jih Huang’s own control systems are incorporated such as constant cycle time control. Automatic cutting position setup, and parison length control. Also, the software has various functions: displaying natures of troubles and alarm history, and monitoring product data. Those functions make the machine easier to operate and eliminate the need for skilled technicians to operate the machine. The Motors run only when they are needed on this energy saving molding machine. This is an ABAQUS simulation of the stretch blow moulding of a drinks container. The animation details the stretching of a Polyethylene terephthalate [PET] pre-heated preform using a stretch-rod, followed by the high pressure air inflation process to form the receptacle in a mould. The legend in the upper left hand corner of the video is a contour of the material thickness distribution [STH] in the wall of the container. From all of the different plastic processes what are the more common ones and how much are they each used?

It really depends on what type of parts and materials you are talking about.

Thermoforming is very popular for a lot of consumer goods. You basically take a sheet of plastic and press a mold into it. An example is TV dinner trays.

Blow molding is very popular for bottles. You start out with a peg of plastic and blow air into it and fill out a mold.

Many of the harder and more perminant plastics are injection molded. You inject plastic into a steel mold and then pull it apart.

Another is FRP – fiberglass reinforced plastic. You see this a lot in tub surrounds and boats. You start with a layer of fiberlass and either spray on or inject plastic.
