Can i get solvent-melted polystyrene from model kits to cure as hard as before I melted it?

Question by Fungyi: Can i get solvent-melted polystyrene from model kits to cure as hard as before I melted it?
I’ve been making some plastic coatings for wood by dissolving polystyrene (from plastic model kits) into paint thinner in room temperature. So far, i’ve brushed a number of layers throughout one week to accumulate a solidified film, thickness of about .25 millimeters. However, i noticed that my melted polystyrene is no where as hard (resistence to deformation/tensile strength) as before i melted it…

Do solvents degrade a plastic by ~entering~ it? In my case, do the solvents EVER fully evaporate? Even if i bake it, will my solvent-melted plastic ever be as strong as the injection-molded version?

…i scrapped some old projects with acrylic lacquer paints on it painted YEARS ago, & i could still dent the film with just my FINGER NAILS. On the other hand, the same kind of paint required a KNIFE to scrap off its bottle after only months of opening it. What’s the deal?

ps please don’t suggest to use something other than polystyrene; i’m interested in polystyrene only
the outcome i’m looking for is simply the hardest coating i can get to cover wood

the polystyrene has oil in it ant the solvent dilluted it, at where I work we vacuum form the piece on the wood, taking a sheet of styrene, heating to wave point, and lowering onto the mold all in one action, what outcome are you looking for??

Fat Transfer to Face, Facelift Surgery & Upper Eyelid Surgery Before and After

www.drkaram.com 858-259-FACE http One of the old dictums in plastic surgery is “replace like with like.” When it comes to facial volume loss, micro fat transfer is the treatment of choice. A gentle liposuction technique is used to prepare the fat for transfer. Then the fat is then injected in the desired portion of the face, using a micro injection technique. This approach allows extremely small parcels of fat to be placed into multiple layers of the face. This maximizes potential survival and allows for optimal aesthetic outcome. In my practice this is done most commonly around the hollows and grooves of the lower eyelid region and cheeks. Another common area is around the mouth and jawline. It can also be done throughout the entire face giving the entire face a natural rejuvenation. th facelift surgery, technically called “rhytidectomy,” Dr. Karam can rejuvenate the quality and appearance of his patients’ facial skin. With this procedure, fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced or eliminated, helping patients look more refreshed. A facelift can address loose, sagging skin of the: * Cheeks * Jaw line * Neck However, if you are seeking improvements to your eyes specifically, you may be better-suited for eyelid surgery. During an examination, our San Diego physician can determine which procedure would be most beneficial to you. Adding volume is the most effective ways of rejuvenating the eyes. The real advantage is that it is non-surgical and highly effective. My first

nose bleeds (please read details before answering)?

Question by shepdawg5000: nose bleeds (please read details before answering)?
I have had nose bleeds since I was about 6 years old. It always seems to happen at the change of the seasons when I get them. Sometimes, I have it where they last a minute, other times they can last up to half an hour. I know how to stop them when I get them, but I would like to know a permenant solution to prevent them altogether weather that be surgery (as a last resort) or preferably some natural solution. Also, I do not take multi-vitamins(yet) and I have a humifier on when I am at home. It seems I get a nose bleed once I leave my house and when I am at work (I work in a plastic injection molding plant). Whenever there is reduced humidity, my whole body gets dry and fells like my body is dehydrated even though I drink about a gallon of water a day, not including the two glasses of o.j. and glass of milk or two. Please help!

Your nosebleeds seem to be from the dry air since you state they are seasonal mostly. Use a humidifier in every room in your house/apartement and use vaseline aka petroleum jelly in your nostrils several times a day to help keep them moist. Keep a small tube in your pocket to use at work since the air is probably dry there too. You do need to get on a good multivitamin and a good antioxidant supplement to keep your immune system healthy.
