Never before modeled as 1/35 plastic injection kit by any maker, the unique and distinctively shaped French B1 bis tank is now available from Tamiya’s 1/35 MM Series! Featuring small, one-man turret and large tracks going around the entire hull the B1 bis tank’s design evokes that of an earlier era, promising a fascinating and enjoyable modeling experience.

wouw… can you buy this kit on the internet? could sombody pm me a link?

  • StormRisingOriginal:

    Yes they do.

  • StormRisingOriginal:

I am about to build this kit, it looks exciting.

  • StormRisingOriginal:

Most likely they do. I’ve built a few kits and if the wheels are glued in place correctly it will roll right.

first of all, thanks for you suport,

secondly, iam still not confident enough for selling on a website…nonetheless ive grown quite effective in casting, however i once casted 80 segments only to found out that they never would fit or drive..anyway iam on the brink of making a vid about casting tracks…ill keep you updated…

Sweet! -I have had a few minor “mishaps” for myself earlier on and for that reason i just thought that i would mention it…It´s VERY disappointing to find out that the hole fabrication of a unique master has been wasted and all that money too! You also may take into consideration (if you feel confident enough) the possibility of selling your designs on the net, it could just make a little money. Anyway, just some thoughts…Happy modeling! :-)

ive allready done that, and ive found that during the casting process, the resin variant is only a little bit smaller then the original. as a precaution ive made only one original and used in over and over again to make one big mold containing 10 segments. when iam lucky i can make a “harvest” of ten perfect segments who are strong enough to withstand the stress when moving around the wheels..

  • BigAndTall666:

Sound interesting, but take into account that there is some shrinkage to encounter when using some types of resins (cheaper brands of polyurethane / polyester / epoxy). Test thoroughly by making a prototype and possibly make a new master shape that is “the shrinkage amount lager” in size, that way the end result will be uniform castings and in the correct scale! The germans actually made fully sized panzer prototypes in wood at their factories during WWII, just a bi-note. -Anyway, good luck!

  • luuko656:

ive started to cast my own track segments in resin. They are conected via small nails, and they can drive over the carpet. iam actually building my own PZKPFW 38(t) out of wood and resin.

You don´t PLAY with your models!!! -The individual track links are only there to illustrate a realistic sagging of the catapillar-track. The only reason that the wheels can turn is to aid in mounting of the tracks and to aid in painting tires (and also weathering – “weathering” means: to make look old and / or worn). IT IS NOT A TOY – IT IS A MODEL!!! If you like to play with a tank buy something like the Academy Jagdpanther in 1:25 scale, that kit is operated via a cable and CAN driven. :-)

  • luuko656:

question: do the tracks roll when you drive the tank over the carpet?
