Q&A: What do you think of women who get implants, nose jobs, lip injections, plastic surgery not reconstructive?
Question by Lasata: What do you think of women who get implants, nose jobs, lip injections, plastic surgery not reconstructive?
If you broke your nose, if you had a masectomy, if you were pregnant with triplets and now want a tummy tuck, i dont really have a problem with those things. After all, you are turning your body back to how it was. What I don’t like is when people change their attributes into ones they were not born with. Don’t you think this just adds to the belief that women are just appreciated for their body?
women get muuuuuch more plastic surgery than men, and here i am specifically talking about WOMEN
how would you feel if eventually EVERYONE was getting implants and their noses done?

Men get plastic surgery as well. What do you think of them?
1rst of all: men get plastic surgeries too.
2nd: their body, their money, their issues, their choice.
I don’t pay much attention to what adults do with their money. If it makes them happy, it doesn’t bother me.
I can never understand how some people actually believe they look natural or more attractive after cosmetic surgery – you can spot it a mile away.
Those big fish lips always freak me out. I wonder on which planet they are considered attractive
Women aren’t the only ones getting plastic surgery but, no matter the gender of the person, unless they’re truly disfigured I think it’s stupid. Surgery is surgery and there is a risk that you won’t wake up when they put you under. Why risk death for for real disfigurement for a smaller nose? Collagen injections are a whole other can of worms. Have you seen those things for the first year that the person has them? The people look ridiculous and it’s not worth it.
except for health reasons and maybe their self esteem i prefer o natural especially when it comes to implants.
When it comes to transsexuals it baffles me that there is surgeries which indulge a person because they think they were supposed to be born a girl WTF??
I don’t have a problem with getting plastic surgery. What bothers me are some of the motives behind it. There is a beauty ideal that seems to consist of being huge breasted and having a tiny, pointed nose and huge puffy lips. Many famous women appear to be going for this look and it is making them become less distinctive looking. Look at all the starlets who have revamped themselves through plastic surgery and notice how much they look alike now. Examples are Heidi Montag, Ashley Tisdale, Ashlee Simpson, and the Olsen twins. All these young women are pretty much interchangeable.
women who did that thing, they don’t have self-confidence. don’t they know that beauty comes from within, not from their physical appearance?
I think it’s superficial and sad.
I truly feel sorry for any woman who sets such store by her physical self. You can only have so much cosmetic surgery until you start looking bizarre, and it won’t last forever.
Men who value all women just for their looks are foolish. Most of them aren’t like that.
I’ve had breast augmentation done. I’m 48 and what I do with my body is no one’s business besides mine.Ya can’t guilt me into thinking I have “issues”. I don’t. Just never had titties, now I do…
I agree with you.I think those people are so fake!
I disagree with plastic surgery unless it’s necessary, the way mine was (birthmark removal to prevent skin cancer). Still, it’s their choice.
I think those women are wasting their time. Beauty eventually goes away anyway. But will she put out regularly? She doesn’t have to be gorgeous. That’s what the light switch is for. I appreciate what our bodies can do to each other, see? Uh, I mean for. Ahem.
No one would say that a person shouldn’t get braces because “God made you snaggle-toothed, so you should stay that way.” There is no difference in wanting to improve your appearance. It is everyone’s right to look how they want to look. Most women who get plastic surgery do it for themselves. Of course that decision must be weighed against what society tells women is desired. Pre-J LO, no one would have considered having a fake rear end put in so that your rear would be bigger. So, obviously, it is a media created desire. But, it is more so, that the woman, herself, thinks she looks good than it is for the woman to think she is attractive to the opposite sex.
It is not simply a belief that women are just appreciated for their bodies. It is a fact that women are, in the eyes of many people only appreciated for their bodies. It is a fact that people are fighting to change. Until the fact has changed, men and women will have plastic surgery.
I don’t think beauty, for men or for women, will ever go out of style, so why shame someone for trying to be beautiful.
I used to be against it, but have changed my mind recently. If someone is depressed about their looks and they are leading an unhappy life, then why not change something to get more self esteem. You should feel good about yourself and live a happy life. For me personally I guess it is more of a turn off, but people don’t do it to make me happy.
I think it’s kind of sad that they can’t be happy with themselves. And some statistics I was reading somewhere was claiming that ppl who get plastic surgery (even post surgery) have less body satisfaction than people who never got surgery.
But… whatever. If someone wants to get their nose changed and that’s going to make them happy, who am I to say no?
I think they have many issues and will never be truly happy. Its sad really.
I have a cracked nose but I was too scared that i didn’t go back to the dr….I think it’s anyone’s choioce if they want to pay for surgery, but I personally am so squimish about surgery especially anything on my face.
I think on all the programs I have seen on TV the women are so concerned with tiny imprefeections especially when it comes to body fat. They say it ruins their life if they have a bit of a tummy. I think women like that need a kick upo the backside and give the money to charity instead.
But I can see how if you’ve always had something that’s upset you, you would want to get it sorted.
I’d never have surgery but I would have a line filler or something in future if I needed it.
