Q&A: Can this make a negative effect on my career, and me getting promoted?
Question by Document Guy: Can this make a negative effect on my career, and me getting promoted?
I’m 25; it was very hard for me at 21 when I graduated from college not getting job offers like other people specially people with bad grades. I wasn’t making as much money, and I felt bad, so I worked a lot, for 3 years I had an average of 3 jobs, usually one full time job, and 2 part-time jobs, I worked an average of 70 weekly hours. I finally got a job where I make what I always thought I deserved, but I think I have a scar from my previous jobs. EVERYDAY people will come to me, at least 3 or 5 people will ask if I slept right or if I’m tired. I have huge eye bags, I mean, not like purple, I mean, bags as in you can see there’s liquid inside and that make a sound if you touch them.
I feel this makes me look lazy, or as not be reliable. I went to the plastic surgeon, and he told me could get rid of those, and make me not to look tired all the time with some restylane injections.
Does it affect my career to be 25, and look tired all the time? Should I get the injections?

Your job odysseys is very common. You are just worried about it thus your eye problems. Just remember there are plenty out there, who are totally disappointed they failed to get the job they wanted right out of college and have been stewing in misery ever since.
What do you think? Answer below!
Listen, my friend, how you look isn’t going to affect your career unless you’re a model or an actor or in a business where you get a lot of face-time with clients and your boss is ANAL when it comes to personal appearance. Absent any of those, what will have the biggest effect on your career is how well you do your job. That being said, however, if the eye bags really bother you and you really think that people will believe that you’re lazy or unreliable, then by all means look into corrective procedures. At the end of the day, when it comes to your personal appearance it only really matters what YOU think.
you are far to young for restylane but if you really want to get rid of the bags check out laser skin tightening. I had it done under and over my eyes and I feel and look much younger. but you are only 25 and that should not have anything to do with your career, unless you are in the public eye all the time. If you do get the injections I hope you know they are over a time period of like 12 weeks and you do not see immediate improvement and make sure you are going to a reputable, CERTIFIED plastic and reconstructive surgeon. but with the laser surgery you get immediate results.
Try teabags for your eyes and some Preparation-H……works wonders.
How you look and present yourself makes a big difference in your career….no matter what job you have.Lots of people rely on the first impression…but I would not go as far as having plastic surgery.
First, I have to agree with you. Right or wrong aside, eye bags have a negative impact with first impressions or long term impressions. If the bags bother you then you should do something about them. Most people don’t know that once you have injections or surgery, if you want to maintain the appearance you have to go back for follow up treatments. The thing is if you don’t like the way you look after the injections or surgery then you don’t have to do anything to “maintain” what you did and eventually the bags will be back although not to the degree they were at first. Good Luck.
