you can reuse this mold hundreds of times, and it is made out of castaldo rubber.
I wish there were more videos like this on here. Question- How many times can you re-use this mold? I want to have some molds made and I would like to get hundreds, if not thousands of patterns out of them but I’m not sure what material to look for.
You don’t pour the molten metal into this mold, you inject wax as a way of duplicating the original piece. The mold is originally made around a metal form though because it needs to be heated up.
This is great for beginners like me. One question, how many times can you re-use a mold like this (compared to a rtv mold). Can you make a video of the making of the mold before it’s vulcanized?
U are good, very good thanks for sharing it with us
I tried to cut my own molds for years and could not. You either have the skill or not!!
And you my brother do a FINE job.. Great video
ok, i watched til the end and i see that the rubber mold is for molding the wax…i guess that is used to make the real mold with the investment compound…great video by the way!
how does the rubber not melt when the molten gold is poured into it? i would love to try making something out of gold, i have already made a gold blob, now i’d like to turn it into something with shape!
Brilliant
thats skill 5 star
u should become a surgeon haha
its amazing that even when being stretched and cut it will still make 2 matching half’s
thanx for the vid im really enjoying learning about molding its a real craft
Thank you. You really give your forearms a good work out when cutting these size molds.
Yes, good eye. It is two different molds. the mold being cut is 18 layers, and the finished mold shown at the end of the video is 24 layers. That has so far been the largest mold we have made. We inject using rougly 10psi with a wax temp of 150F. Thank you for your compliment!!
the temp can vary. would recommend going by the manufacturers suggestions. it’s usually 6 minutes for each sheet at around 260F
Nice job. Although that was two different moulds.
I never make bangles so don’t work with moulds that big. How many layers did you use? What are your settings on the wax pot? Again, nice job!
Awsome job bro! I really hate cutting those big molds.
wow you make it look so easy!
