I am 45, working on BA in Business, overqualified for most jobs, cannot perform some What do I do now?

Question by unicornev: I am 45, working on BA in Business, overqualified for most jobs, cannot perform some What do I do now?
I am working on a BA in Business, but due to an injury, the work I used to do ( purely physical labor as a set up/process technician in an injection molding facility) is unavailable. I am over qualified for Burger King, but have only old (1992/1993) office experience. Since I do not have a degree yet (and with no experience, it probably wouldn’t help), how do I get a new job?

I made the transition from kitchen work to an office by going through a temp agency. I used Kelly Services. They will not only test your current office skills, but they offer computer based training to get you up to speed in the areas you need help in. They will continue to work with you until you reach a level that they can place you at and all of these testing and training services are done for free around your regular work schedule.

I would imagine that the computer skills required in your degree program have prepared you more than you realize and you will test well.

Good luck.

Not sure if this will help, but you could start a new business working from home. CAUTION: there are a lot of things out there – and a good percentage are not worth a second glance. DO NOT pay money for information on how to work from home. There are good, legitimate home business opportunities out there if you do your research/homework. After a lot of time and research, I found what I was looking for.

Every thought about working from home? Start your own business from the house. There are several legit ones out there that you can do. I personally sell Herbalife and I do it on the side but my team consists of several people that were in corp. world at one time retired and needed to have a income still and started selling herbalife. Anyway if your interested in hearing about it you can go to http://www.starturhomebiz.net or email me at jzalesky@mydiet4u.com and I can give ya a call some time to tell you more about it. Hope this helps and good luck.

First of all, lose the attitude.

‘Studying for a BA’ does not make you overwualified for most jobs.

If your superior attitude shows through, bosses won’t want to hire you.

dont put down the ba on your resume/cv and make your self not over-qualified. thats if you want to work at burger king but why? your not studyin a degree to work in fast food are ya? first start out doing temporary work where they will train you and get experience that way, go to as many agencies that specialise in the jobs your looking for then once you get your BA, apply for managerial jobs.
