Question by Robert Obrien: I need help Designing a Hydraulic Scenario for school?
Having trouble with this piece in class…
Scenario
I work for a company that builds plastic injection molding machines. my job is to design a hydraulic circuit that will perform the folowing operations:
Open and close a mold with a hydraulic cylinder. (i understand this one)
Powedr a hydraulic motor to trun a large screw that feeds hot plastic into the mold. (i also understand this.)

(what i dont understand)
The motor and the cylinder should be capable of operating separetely, BUT THE MOTOR SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO TURN WHEN THE MOLD IS CLAMPED.

how can i do that?

Without seeing the injection molding machine, all I can suggest is to add some kind of limit/ micro switch to the mold hydraulic cylinder or the moving part of the mold door.

This limit/ micro switch can then be wired in series with the Start push button for the hydraulic motor.

Wire it up as a normally closed circuit when the door is clamped.

This is for my tech homework. I need to find out how various types of plastic packagings are made and I want to find out how a shampoo bottle is made.

Is it something like vacuum forming, blow moulding or injection holding??

If it is not known how shampoo bottles are made, how are other forms of plastic packagings made??
Does anyone also know if I have have put this in the right category for Yahoo! Answers???

I have had nose bleeds since I was about 6 years old. It always seems to happen at the change of the seasons when I get them. Sometimes, I have it where they last a minute, other times they can last up to half an hour. I know how to stop them when I get them, but I would like to know a permenant solution to prevent them altogether weather that be surgery (as a last resort) or preferably some natural solution. Also, I do not take multi-vitamins(yet) and I have a humifier on when I am at home. It seems I get a nose bleed once I leave my house and when I am at work (I work in a plastic injection molding plant). Whenever there is reduced humidity, my whole body gets dry and fells like my body is dehydrated even though I drink about a gallon of water a day, not including the two glasses of o.j. and glass of milk or two. Please help!

Your nosebleeds seem to be from the dry air since you state they are seasonal mostly. Use a humidifier in every room in your house/apartement and use vaseline aka petroleum jelly in your nostrils several times a day to help keep them moist. Keep a small tube in your pocket to use at work since the air is probably dry there too. You do need to get on a good multivitamin and a good antioxidant supplement to keep your immune system healthy.

shes on 4 ML of potassium bromide and KNOCK ON WOOD she hasnt had a siezure in about a little mroe than 2 weeks now.

the only thing is the dog pharmacy we get the meds from-oradell animal hospital meds …only has liquid or powder form of this medicine.

she takes liquid..4 ML in the plastic injection tube..and its inserted orally.my dad squirts it down her throat and she HATES it. its salty and…we cant put it in her dog food cause she eats dry not wet….so

anyways..she went to bite my dad today when he gave her the meds..she really hates getting it. the pharmacy suggested maybe getting the powder form and trying to find a human pharmacy nearby and getting it capsulated..but its alot of work

does anyone have a dog who takes liquid meds who handles it a different way? we’re desperate..its torture seeing her cry when my dad has to give her that..but of course im SO thankful she hasnt had another siezure.

any tips???

i know about phenobarbital very well…but its bad for my dogs liver cause shes old =( but thank you for the suggestion!

Sometimes you can also have a flavoring compound added to the liquid to make it taste better. Potassium bromide is kind of an older med, most vets use phenobarbital, which comes in a liquid or a tablet form. Usually we will only use potassium bromide if the phenobarbital isn’t working. I would ask the vet if phenobarbital is an option for her.

Question by temper: changed intake manifold on a 97 cougar fuel injection!?
engine knocks,shakes,misses,and was hard to start after changing the manifold.the engine ran beautiful prior to me doing it.v8 4.6 plastic manifold…people told me the only thing critical to changing this manifold was the torque specks..i followed those,but it seems like 1 of my ejectors or spark plug wires are crossed? but its not popping or spitting back.can someone pls tell me what the problem is or seems like to you? ty

Whether plastic or metal, the intake could have a crack in it, the gaskets may not be sealing, you missed a vacuum hose, etc.

With no back fire, the firing order may be ok, so investigate serious vacuum leaks first.

I’ve jus thad a tummy tuck, breast llft, liposuction, and implants after losing 100 pounds………… and now I feel (4 weeks out) like I look like Frankenstein’s monster. Any idea when/if scars should frade ( YES, I HAVE PLASTIC SURGEON INFO, BUT ISNT’ THAT MOSTLY PR?)

Ok women you complain a lot about men, so here’s my chance 😛 Those of you who have lip injections, fake tans, fake boobs, pretty much fake everything, why do you do it? Do you honestly think it makes you look good? I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I don’t prefer plastic women who look like life sized barbies.

Question by carolinekwright: Make up for bags under the eyes that REALLY works?
I have hypothyrodism, which causes my eyes to bag slightly. I have been lucky enough to find 1 plastic surgeon who help me with that, but I don’t have the money right now. I had restalyne yesterday, but I have yet to see the results, and I did not care for the doctor’s manner. He wants to see in two weeks to see if I need a touch up (I do) but I am not too hopeful that restalyne works for me. In short, I need someone to tell me a cream (price IS NOT an issue -we’re talking BEAUTY here) if there is one, that I can use to minimize my bags until I can afford the surgery (which should be around June ’07) I would also like the cream now, to cover up the swelling from the restalyne.

PS – I also had botox for my forehead, and that was also not a success (still have lines). I also notice putting in my contacts that I frown, so I realize that 0 an injection shot every 4 months is not incentive enough for me not stop frowning. Any suggestions that area as well? Thank you.

have you tried preperation h for your bags. it is an old school remedy that after a while your bags permenantly go away.
