@tucstyle020 Just use superglue….
@ForTheEmperorsOwn
fail
I could easily hear him say “Sherman.” You can even see where it says “Sherman” on the box lol.
I prefer plastic models, but metal models are generally better sculpted.
@BeastsOfWar It did sound like you said German tank platoon even though you meant Sherman tank platoon
@doogal184 I’d have to disagree about detail nowadays, the plastic kits are getting superb.
@REAPER3382 Super glue is perfect for metal models.
The thing to realise is that it bonds better when there’s water.
Dab the tip of your finger/brush/cloth in a TINY drop of water, just so it’s a tiny little bit moist. Then wipe/dap over the area you’re going to put the glue on.
The super glue bonds in seconds after that.
@40KEndgame get glue that adheres to metal. but then again its still pretty fucking anoying
@40KEndgame all of my larger metal models i pin, helps keep them together.
plastic all the way 😀 I like the weight of metal, and there seems to be more detail in metal models, but i like making conversions, and plastics just easier to work with, or resin, then you get all the detail as well
well, ive assembled a cave troll picked it up(after a day, used superglue and green stuff) and it just fell in half, and broke on the floor.
axelsfolks
Pin metal models always(and any plastic/resin you are attaching to the metal mini), plenty of articles on the net about it, they will cover glues and supplies.
Grab some small hobby files for mold lines and mods.
Undercoat in a primer designed for metal, there are many forum posts out there covering metal mini undercoating, I like Mr.Surfacer 1200(liquid putty) for this as I have an airbrush.
I would go with Milliput for join filling as a newbie, it is really easy to work with.
We, my parner and I are just getting into WH 40K together. I got her a Painboy for Christmast. Is there any tips you could give us on basic modeling with metal figures? Like what glues, modeling puttys and primers to use. Also, will QuickSteel work as greenstuff? Awesome stuff BOW, Love your accents and pronunciations, I’m from WA, USA, and would probably sound a little ORKY to you guys…LOL…
I’ll Stay Tuned
superglue, as it bonds realy easy. but some models are fiddly and require holding in place while they glue. i built a necron scarab today, and one of the legs would not glue, some parts require bending to fit others cutting down in places. Plastic is much more officiant.
Ive noticed that GW are stopping or slowly taking away metal model. where as before you would have 3 to 4 racks of blisters, they are down to 1 in my shop. Ordering them online is more easy. but if the model is damaged you cannot get a replacement from GW. i have once, only due to it being totally massed. ( immortal gun was snapped off ) so if your ordering make sure they offer insurance.
Ok, new problem. My shop doesn’t sell metal models. And most of necron armys have the metal units damnit. Guess its time for some online shopping.
super glue?
I collect warhammer 40k necrons so i am gonna be encountering a lot of metals. I used to collected tyranids so i am not used to metals. Any suggestions ona glue i should use?
i dont see whats wrong with metal i say its coler when its metal
ah ok. well then a simple misunderstanding. forgive me for my brashness. other than that keep those videos rolling.
Try using some green stuff when building metal models, I helps to hold it together and fit into place
OMG metal model are such a pain i have a daemonhunters army so only non metal units i have are my land raiders and deadnoughts they just do not like to stay together some times and stuff doesn’t always match up ugh they are just annoying i’d avoid it when you can thats my opinion
well I was thinking more along the lines of hard to drill the hole with the citadel hand drill ;P
i don’t call them Panzers. 😛

those are shermans, not german panzers….but still an all around a good video.
Same here! Also, such as my metal Termie Librarian for 40K, the metal always has little excess pieces you have to work off, which is time consuming!
