Becker Necker knife by Ka-Bar

The Becker Necker is the quintessential neck knife. Updated with 1095 CroVan steel, a redesigned sheath, and marked with the new BK&T KA-BAR stamps, the Necker is the same quality performer it has always been…only better. Black plastic injection molded glass-filled nylon sheath and 550 cord included. Also note that the revised sheath for the Necker was designed to work with the TDI Metal Belt Clip, #1480CLIP. This allows for easy on and off mounting to a belt, in a boot, or on a tactical vest. Made in the USA www.kabar.com

Slap a scandi edge on that and it would be prefect (course the blade would have to be thicker)

@mrbeligos My ability to sharpen a knife is NOT in question here. I’m the guy my friends get to sharpen their knives for them. I use wet stones and strop. I too own Bark River & Becker products and can tell you, along with anyone else REALLY familiar with blade steel, that 12C27 WILL NOT take or keep as fine of an edge as carbon steel. That is a simple fact of life. Carbon simply sharpens finer. Bark River makes excellent knives but they errored in using 12C27 in the Bravo. Bravo in 1095=better.

@GLOCKCOPG23 sounds like you dont know how to sharpen,I have both knives ,the real becker in san-mai is a good one so is the bark river, I prefer the bark river. much like comparing cold steel to chris reeve…. It is what ever floats your boat.

  • GLOCKCOPG23:

@mrbeligos Not hardly. The Bravo Necker’s 12C27 stainless steel WILL NOT take an edge as keenly or hold it as long as the Becker’s modified 1095 carbon steel. Period. No debate. The Becker Necker also costs half as much. I’d rather buy two Beckers and keep one for back up than WAY OVER PAY for a Bravo Necker that constantly needs touch up sharpening. The Becker Necker also has much lower cost handle scales available, better sheath, better grind, better value and a better trail knife as a whole.

bark river barvo necker 2 has this knife beat hands down. barkie’s have many handle options that make them fit your hand like a glove !!

I have trying to get my hands on the RAT Izula to answer just that question. As of right now I don’t know the answer. The Ka-Bar BN is very economically priced and built like a tank so the RI better have some real magical powers to justify its higher price. Price wise the Becker Necker wins right off the bat. Good question, thanks.

in your opinion what knife is better in preformance, price, and quality. The Becker Necker or the Rat Izula?

Good to see you back. And, as always, showing excellent taste in your review. Also, you job specifying and clarifying this knife’s use and place in one’s system.
