Juvederm Ultra XC Lip Augmentation Filler Injection

Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with offices in Virginia and Maryland (Herndon & Chevy Chase) demonstrates lip injection with Juvederm Ultra XC. Lip augmentation with Juvederm Ultra XC is more comfortable than Juvederm Ultra or Restylane or Perlane due to its added numbing medicine (Lidocaine). Before and after pictures are shown. This patient has had multiple syringes of Juvederm because she desired exotic and much fuller sensual lips. Many patients undergo a much more subtle lip enhancement with less volume.

    Hi. Botox in lower doses can prevent lines and wrinkles so we have patients who start in their early 20’s and it works great. Typically for the crows feet you need 10-20 units of Botox total injected about 3 times a year and it should cost around $150-$300 per injection. In the long run you should have less wrinkles but if you stop it will just go back to the way it was – not worse.

    Hi Dr Naderi, i m thinking to go ahead with botox for my crows feet, is it normal to do it at the age of 30 and how many times i will have to repeat the injections afterwards. will that affect my wrinkles in the long run or it doesnt . thank you so much.

  • meryama001:

    @meryama001 Thank you Doctor for clearing that up!!

    First let me tell you that about 80% of my Rhinoplasty patients do not take or need any strong pain medicine because I do not pack their noses after surgery. The packing is what usually causes all the pain after a Rhinoplasty. As far as lip injections, they do hurt but you can get your lips pretty much completely numbed up with a dental block so that they dont hurt at all. The dental block is much less painful than the injections.

  • meryama001:

    Dr Naderi, is this painful? I am so scared of the pain!! How would you describe the pain? and I had the same question about rhinoplasty, how painful is that too?

  • DrNaderi:

    @TheLonghairraven
    You can definitely go subtle or go over the top. This patient is a professional model and she is tall and she desires very bold lips. There is swelling after the injection and it takes about 4-7 days before they look great. Some patients get 1/2 of a syringe of filler every 6 months for a natural and subtle enhancement and others get multiple syringes every 2-3 months to maintain a bold enhancement. Its a matter of personal patient taste but I like natural lips as well.

  • TheLonghairraven:

    Dr,naderi is there any way to make the lips look natural, towards the end her lips look too big and fake, or is it because it’s swollen?? is the last picture the same patient? Because in the video It looks too big and unatural! Thanks.

    love it

    @sita2627
    She did the injections without a dental block so her lips were not 100% numbed up but she tolerated it very well as you can see and did not cry but having tears gather in the corner of the eyes can be an involuntary reflex

  • sita2627:

    is she crying?

    @beccamd4u Hi. I will try to make a new botox video with closer zoom. I dont think Plastic or Facial Plastic Surgeons are the best at injections. Its an art and some nurses have a better touch at it than some plastic surgeons. But I do think that you should seek a practitioner who does this very often on a daily basis and has very very low complication rates. Too many people are doing things in which they have very little training or expertise but these injections can be taught and learned.

  • beccamd4u:

    Dr. Naderi, two questions: 1) How do you feel about the surge of non-PS physicians performing Botox and filler treatments? and 2) Can you please please upload a newer, upclose video of your unique crows feet treatment? I’m only 33 and even I experienced ugly under-eye lines that were new after traditional treatment.

  • DrNaderi:

    @glennrunnerroad
    Thank you. The Lidocaine is a low dose. Does not completely numb the area but it helps especially if you use ice as well and if you overlap the next inject entry point in in the area previously injected and somewhat numbed. Dental block is still much more comfortable for most patients

  • glennrunnerroad:

    very nice, I wondered ow the lido addative woukld work. as an anesthesiologist I figured it would require at least a minute to take effect making the subsequent injections painless. Again, thank you for posting, I also enjoyed the classical music in the background.

    Hi I wish I could give you some names but you have to do lots of research, ask around and see a few plastic surgeons for consult and then make your own decision. Be safe and dont take risks with your face and lips.

  • lippy170:

    @DrNaderi how long does it last ? is there no other way of getting this look without injections ?

  • lippy170:

    Id love to have this done. But i live in the UK and dont know where to go !

    Hi,
    I put in 1 syringe of Juvederm in her at this taping but she metabolizes the filler quickly so she gets them injected fairly frequently.
    The dental block should not be that painful if done properly. I use 3 different techniques for dental block depending on the patient.

  • owataqtpie:

    Wowzer, I tried Juviderm two years ago.. and swore loved the results but petrifyed about going through the pain!!!! from that big huge dental blocker.. This looks so much better!!! How many cc’s did you put in her?? or how much amount? etc
