This is an ABAQUS simulation of the stretch blow moulding of a drinks container. The animation details the stretching of a Polyethylene terephthalate [PET] pre-heated preform using a stretch-rod, followed by the high pressure air inflation process to form the receptacle in a mould. The legend in the upper left hand corner of the video is a contour of the material thickness distribution [STH] in the wall of the container.
