the ribs is ok, but too too much that customer design, we tell customer it will cause deformation, but because of customer request, can not make any change.
now customer make new test with new material already. i think they know use wrong material can not slove problem at all

It’s been a month now, has your customer sent you the new material to test? If so, what was the material and what were the results?

  • plasticman77:

Shrinkage of PP is different, but less than HDPE. The moulding would be closer to the size of ABS than HDPE and you would have a marked improvement of the deformation. Try talk/chalk filled PP, as that shrinks even less- but does affect the surface finish and drying of the material is recommended to improve this. Let me know what material your customer supplies.

PP material we want to test, but shrinkage is difference, and HIPS easy brokne, can not use for working.
now customer send material from themself and will give us to test

I understand that you mould ABS and HDPE. I was wondering why you use such different materials? If you want cheaper than ABS, is HIPS not an option? If not, try using PP instead of HDPE. But if you do follow ABS with HDPE or PP, ensure that parameters are changed, eg. lower melt temperature & use cold water as the tool cooling medium instead of hot. Looks like you have enough ejectors, so make sure ribs aren’t too thick, only 50% thickness of moulding face with a good taper & polish.

WTF!! What was that supposed to show?
